Danny Ackerman, PGA, Head Golf Professional

Danny grew up in Central Illinois where he was a Golf Professional at three different private clubs. Danny was the 1st Assistant Professional at Mt. Hawley Country Club in Peoria, IL for four seasons before coming to Fox Den in 2014. Danny played two seasons at Illinois Central College. His accomplishments there included two individual medalists and All-Conference honors for both seasons. He completed a degree in Business Marketing at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL in 2005 and completed the PGA/PGM program and received his PGA membership in 2012. Danny received the 2015 Assistant Golf Professional of the Year for the Tennessee PGA Section. Danny credits hispassion for the game and enjoyment of working with others as the key factors of his being a Golf Professional.  


  

Lee Whitehead, Assistant Golf Professional


Lee is a native of Knoxville, playing high school golf at
Christian Academy of Knoxville where he won two State Championships. As a junior, he also won the Knoxville City Amateur Championship posting a 4 round total of 16-under par 272. He continued his pursuit of golf into the collegiate level by playing 4 years at Tennessee Tech University where he majored in Public Relations with an emphasis in Sports Communications. While there, Lee earned several awards for both golf and academics including: 3-Time Ohio Valley Conference Male Golfer of the Week, 2015 Randy Darcy’s Most Valuable Player Award, 5-Time OVC All Tournament Team Honors, 4- Time TTU Athletic Directors Honor Roll, 4-Time OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and Cleveland/ Srixon Golf’s All-American Scholar Athlete Award. Lee also worked as a graduate assistant for the men’s golf team in 2016. After graduating Tennessee Tech, Lee qualified to participate in the 2015 United States Amateur Championship held at Olympia Fields CC in Chicago, Illinois. Lee is now a member of the PGA University Golf Management program where he is working to become a Class-A Golf Professional. Outside of golf, Lee enjoys spending his time in the outdoors, and is a passionate fly-fisherman. Lee says “Using my experience to teach people the game of golf and getting to see them grow and improve as a player is what made me choose to become a Golf Professional.”
  
 Wallace Hamerton, Golf Professional, LPGA

Wallace grew up playing golf with her family in Massachusetts. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she played on the lacrosse and field hockey teams. Her amateur golf record includes 9 USGA national championships, 13 state tournament wins and a runner up in the Arizona women’s state amateur. She turned professional 8 years ago and is a Class A member of the LPGA. She joins the Fox Den golf staff after 12 years at Belfair Planation in Bluffton, SC. , where she served as Learning Center Manager and for the past four years,  full time Teaching Professional. She is certified with TPI Institute Level One and Operation 36 Golf for junior and beginner golfers. She is tremendously excited to be a part of the Fox Den golf operation team and serving the members in all capacities. Having visited beautiful East Tennessee many times, she is thrilled to call it home.
